GM Confirms Trade Coming Soon from Arizona Diamondbacks
The Arizona Diamondbacks can't win a baseball game but that doesn't mean other teams aren't thinking they're a talented tea. The D-Backs have an MLB-worst 20-49 record, but their general manager confirmed on Wednesday, the phone line is ringing off the hook and the team is likely making a trade very soon.
Diamondbacks general manager Mike Hazen met with the media on Wednesday and had this to say:
The phone has been ringing off the hook ... given where we're standing and where other teams are at. "So, there's a volume that has to be dealt with.
The D-Backs are expected to move some players out of the desert before the July 31st trade deadline. It's likely infielder Eduardo Escobar is included, as he's a pending free agent. Along with outfielder David Peralta and all-star Ketel Marte who we have reported is drawing interest from the New York Yankees.
Hazen will be stepping away from the team for a personal leave of absence, however they have assistant general manager Amiel Sawdaye ready to pull the trigger on unloading some players for prospects.
