Done Deal: Brewers and Angels Complete a Trade
The Milwaukee Brewers have upgraded their bullpen as they have acquired right-hander Hunter Strickland from the Los Angeles Angels in exchange for cash considerations.
The Angels were looking to move on from Strickland after designating him for earlier this week. He's a bit of a suitcase, having pitched for the Mets, Nationals, Rays, Mariners and Angels, and has some World Series experience in Washington. The Brewers will be his third team in 2021, it must feel good to be wanted though right?
So far this season in Tampa Bay and California, Strickland has a 4.03 ERA, in the 22.1 innings he's worked. He gave up seven runs in 6.1 innings with the Angels and they were quick to show him the door.
Brewers have placed Travis Shaw on the 60-day DL after he dislocated his shoulder trying to field a grounder earlier this week and this has opened a spot on the 40-man roster for Strickland. Let's hope he can find his form in Milwaukee or else he may be adding another sticker to his suitcase.
