Blue Jays' Stripling: 'Vladdy Jr Playing in Rookie Mode'
If you're a fan of the MLB and haven't been living under a rock for the past couple of months then you know Toronto Blue Jays first baseman Vladimir Guerrero Jr has taken the baseball world by storm this season. The young phenom is having a monster season and making it look easy in the process. So easy in fact, some of his teammates are saying he's playing on rookie mode.
Blue Jays pitcher Ross Stripling has been blown away since day one with the team and had this to say about the Jays young star:
We're over here playing on MVP mode and he's playing on Rookie mode. It's just easy for him.
Guerrero Jr is the early favorite for AL MVP and is now batting .336/.442/.664. He's ranked first in the MLB when it comes to on-base %, slugging %, and RBI. He leads the AL in batting average. Vladdy Jr is in contention for the AL triple crown would be a remarkable feat and the first Triple Crown winner since Miguel Cabrera in 2012.
While the Blue Jays may have blown their brains out last night out of the bullpen, there's no doubt the team is going to be led by Guerrero Jr. As far as Vladdy Jr goes, so do the Blue Jays. There's no doubt Toronto is in good hands for the foreseeable future.
